Warehouse labelling and consultancy

Professional warehouse labelling is a prerequisite for the effective use of a WMS. It is not always a matter of simply marking shelf positions. With a suitable labelling system and the right labels, it is possible to achieve clarity, traceability and error-free operation of all warehouse processes and thus flexibility or speed of warehouse operations.

For warehouse labelling, special labels made of highly resistant materials are used, also suitable for harsh conditions with special properties - such as labels with a reflective surface adapted for scanning with long-range scanning terminals, up to 15 m, labels with a magnetic layer instead of adhesive, or floor labels, etc. With an optimal labelling system and the right labels, you achieve clarity, traceability and error-free operation of all warehouse processes and thus flexibility or speed of warehouse operations.

Pallet position marking - "Multilevel" labels

For pallet position labeling, we most often recommend customers to use colored multi-level "Multilevel" labels. This is a special way of clearly marking using a main central multi-level label placed on the first beam at eye level, allowing warehouse staff to seamlessly scan pallet positions of higher floors. The colour differentiation of each floor helps warehousemen to better orient themselves when stacking and unstacking the correct pallets.

"Multilevel" labels are offered as horizontal or vertical labels, depending on the types of racking in the warehouse and the requirements themselves.

For even better clarity, we recommend a combination of a main Multilevel label and coloured position labels placed under each pallet. The position labels can be in the form of:

• colour labels
• a coloured label with the position description

• a coloured label with a position description and barcode, which are particularly useful for inventory

From the request, through the design to the actual labelling:

Positions on free surfaces

In every warehouse there are goods that cannot be stacked in shelving systems and warehouse staff lose clarity as they are in most cases unable to label the positions for such goods. There are 2 options to mark these positions:

• marking on the ground
• hanging signage using hanging signs.

The most common solution is floor marking of positions using special high-resistant labels that are stuck directly on the floor. Warehouse workers can also drive forklifts over such floor labels, as the labels are resistant to mechanical damage. For even greater durability, the labels are inserted into metal frames where maximum resistance to damage is ensured.

We also offer our customers a new floor marking solution in the form of "coating", where the positions are sprayed directly onto the floor.

In case the customer is unable to use the solution in the form of floor labels, we mark the positions using signs suspended from the ceiling of the warehouse. The positions are marked on comatex tables which are lowered on ropes to the required height. For multiple positions in a sector we use a hanging rail system.

Do you have "moving" positions in your warehouse?

Magnetic labels are a simple and elegant solution for frequently changing positions. Magnetic labels are particularly useful when a position is temporarily cancelled, a position is moved due to more goods, a position is moved, etc. Magnetic labels are most often used in cold storage warehouses where low temperatures do not allow the application of adhesive labels.
